How Secure Are The Friendship Lamps?
Worried about privacy? Your Friendship Lamp is at least as secure as your home Wi-Fi. It connects only to your router and LuvLink's secure servers — nothing else. It does not talk to other devices on your network or any third-party services. Your Wi-Fi details never leave your router, and the LuvLink App will never ask for passwords or payment information.
How the connection works
When you set up your lamp using the LuvLink App, your phone or tablet will spot a temporary Wi-Fi network. It looks like one of these:
- FriendLamps_XXXXXX — for Classic and Modern Friendship Lamps
- Infinity_XXXXXX — for the Infinity Range
The six-digit code in that network name is your lamp's unique ID. It is different from the MAC ID printed on the sticker on the underside of the lamp.
Tap the network when the app prompts you to, then follow the steps to finish connecting your lamp.
After setup
Once your lamp is connected to Wi-Fi, that temporary network disappears from your device. It will not come back unless:
- the lamp loses its connection, or
- you manually reset it by holding your finger on the top sensor plate for three to five minutes.
From that point on, your lamp uses your internet connection for one thing only — sending and receiving touch signals between your paired Friendship Lamps via LuvLink's secure servers.

- The LuvLink App will never ask for sensitive information like passwords or payment details.
- Your Wi-Fi information stays inside your own router — it is never sent to any external server.
