What Do I Need to Connect the Lamp?

Setting up a new Friendship Lamp takes just a few minutes. Here's everything you need to have on hand first, and the steps to get your lamp connected and glowing green.

What you'll need

  • The Friendship Lamp
  • The USB cable that came with it
  • A USB charger, or a laptop/PC to plug into
  • Your Wi-Fi name and password
  • The free LuvLink app

Setting up your lamp

  1. Plug the lamp into power using the USB cable and a USB charger (or a laptop/PC).
  2. Open the LuvLink app and choose to add the device.
  3. Either create a new group, or join an existing one using its GroupID.
  4. Put the lamp into setup mode: hold the top sensor for 3–5 minutes until it glows dim red.
  5. Select the lamp in the app.
  6. Enter your Wi-Fi details.
  7. When the connection succeeds, you'll see three ticks.
  8. If you're joining someone else's group, the lamp shows yellow while it waits for the group admin's approval. Once everything's connected, the lamp settles on swirling green — you're ready to go.
