How to Use Your Friendship Lamp

Your Friendship Lamp is a simple way to say "I'm thinking of you." Tap the sensor plate and your chosen colour lights up on every lamp in your group; they tap back to reply. This article covers the everyday things you'll do with your lamp — choosing a colour, sending it, turning the lamp off, and changing your Wi-Fi.

Pick or change your lamp's colour

  1. Touch and hold the top sensor plate for about 10+ seconds. The lamp cycles through the available colours.
  2. Release when you reach the colour you want.

The lamp pulses with your selection for 5 seconds, then powers down.

You can also change your colour any time from the LuvLink app — see How Can I Change the Color of My Friendship Lamp?

Send a colour to your group

  1. Touch the top of the lamp for 1 second.

Every Friendship Lamp in your group that shares the same GroupID lights up with your colour. The lamps pulse for about 30 seconds and then stay lit. The pulsing is the signal that someone has sent a greeting.

You can also send a colour remotely from the app — see Tap and Send a Color from the LuvLink App

Turn off your Friendship Lamp

  1. Hold the sensor plate for 2 seconds, then release. The lamp turns off.

Keep in mind that any group member tapping their lamp will turn yours back on. You're not shutting anyone out; the lamp just responds whenever your group connects.

If you'd like it to switch off automatically, set a Sleep Timer in the app — see Set a Sleep Timer

Change your Wi-Fi settings

You won't need to do this often, but here's how when you do — for example, if your lamps aren't responding to each other and you want to check the network connection:

  1. Hold the sensor plate for about 3–5 minutes. The lamp cycles through all its colours several times, then settles on dim red — this is Wi-Fi setup mode.
  2. Once it's showing dim red, open the LuvLink app.
  3. Start the setup process again from the beginning.
  4. Follow the prompts to set your Wi-Fi and/or GroupID.
