How to Transfer Photos to Your Digital Photo Frame via USB Cable
You can transfer photos from your computer to your Digital Photo Frame using a USB cable. Connect the frame, enable transfer mode in Settings, then drag your photos into the DCIM folder on the frame's drive. This works on Windows and Linux — not Mac.
> Note: USB cable transfers are supported on Windows and Linux only. If you're on a Mac, use the Frameo app or a micro SD card instead.
How to Transfer Photos
- Connect your Digital Photo Frame to your computer using a USB cable.
- On the frame, go to Settings, then Manage Photos, then select Transfer from Computer. Turn on the option so your computer can recognise the frame.
- On your Windows or Linux computer, open File Explorer and look for the frame listed as a removable drive — usually under This PC or Devices.
- Open the folder called DCIM on the frame's drive, then drag and drop your photos into it.
- Once copying is done, give the frame a moment to process the photos before unplugging the USB cable. This makes sure everything shows up properly.
Troubleshooting Missing Photos
If some photos or videos don't appear after the transfer, the frame may still be importing them, the files may not have been saved in the DCIM folder, or the file type may not be supported.
What Happens with Unsupported Files?
Not every file type will work with the frame. To see which files couldn't be displayed:
- Go to Settings → Manage Photos → SHOW UNSUPPORTED FILES.
- From here, you can delete any unsupported files to free up space — you'll see a list of files the frame can't display.
Here's a quick look at the file types the frame supports:
| Photos | Videos |
|---|---|
| JPEG | MP4 |
| JPG | 3GP |
| PNG | |
| WEBP |
A Tip to Save Space and Speed Things Up
Before copying files across, try resizing your photos and videos to match your frame's screen resolution. This can make transfers faster and help your memories display crisply and smoothly.
