Frame Has Disconnected
If your Digital Photo Frame keeps dropping off Wi-Fi, the most likely causes are a weak signal or a guest network with a time limit. Work through the steps below in order — most people are back online within a few minutes.
Step 1: Reset Wi-Fi
Start here. A quick Wi-Fi reset clears most connection hiccups.
- On the frame, go to Settings → Wi-Fi.
- Tap the three dots in the upper-right corner.
- Select Reset Wi-Fi.
The frame will reset its Wi-Fi settings and restart. Once it's back on, try reconnecting to your network.
Step 2: Move the frame closer to your router
Distance and obstacles are common culprits.
- Move the frame to about 2 metres (6 feet) from your router.
- Remove anything sitting between the frame and the router — walls, appliances, large furniture.
- If you can, raise the frame to 1–2 metres (3–6 feet) above the floor.
Then check whether the connection holds.
Step 3: Try a different Wi-Fi network
If the frame is still dropping out, connect it to a completely different network — a friend's Wi-Fi or your phone's hotspot works fine for this test.
If it stays connected on the other network, the issue is with your home Wi-Fi setup rather than the frame itself.
Step 4: Check whether you're on a guest network
Guest networks often cut connections after a set time — anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours — and there's no way around that limit, as it's built into the network itself.
If you're on a guest network, ask the network administrator or your internet service provider to move the frame onto the main network instead.
Step 5: Check whether you're on a mesh network
Mesh networks use multiple nodes around your home to spread coverage. Some frames struggle when they connect to a distant node, or when they jump between nodes too often.
Two things that can help:
- Adjust your node placement so that one node is clearly the strongest signal near the frame.
- Bind the frame to a specific node — most mesh network apps have this option.
