Setting up a lamp you’re giving as a gift

Giving a Friendship Lamp as a gift? Good news: there's nothing you need to set up in advance. The person receiving it does the quick setup themselves, so it works perfectly wherever they live.

How gift setup works

• The recipient sets it up themselves. They'll do it through the free LuvLink app, on their own Wi-Fi network. No preparation is needed from you as the gift-giver.
• You both need to be in the same group. To connect two lamps, both people join an identical group inside the app. Once you're grouped together, any colour sent by either person shows on both lamps at the same time — that's what keeps you connected.
• Already own a lamp? If you already have a lamp of your own, you can simply send the recipient a group invitation to link the two.
