What does each color mean?
Your Friendship Lamp uses its own glow to tell you what it's doing — especially while it's setting up. Here's what each colour means, so you can tell at a glance whether your lamp is ready to go or still needs a hand.
What each colour means
- Dim blue — The lamp is turning on and connecting. You'll usually see this for a moment when you first plug it in.
- Dim red — The lamp is in Wi-Fi setup mode and needs to be connected to your network through the LuvLink App. If your lamp is stuck on red, see What Do I Do if My Lamp Is Red?.
- Dim purple — The lamp is downloading and installing an update. On a college or university network, purple can also mean the lamp still needs to be registered with the school's IT department — see Connecting Your Friendship Lamp at College.
- Dim orange — The lamp has connected to Wi-Fi but can't reach the internet. It's on the network, just not able to get online yet.
- Swirling green — Success! The lamp is set up and ready to connect with the other lamps in your group. This is the one you're aiming for.
- Dim yellow — The lamp is waiting for the group admin's approval to join the group. The group creator gets an email and an app notification about the pending request, so they can approve it.
