Why is My Lamp Stuck on Yellow?
A yellow light on your LuvLink Friendship Lamp usually means one of three things: it's waiting for a group admin to approve it, it's lost its Wi-Fi connection, or it's having a power supply issue. All three are fixable, and the steps below will walk you through each one.
Your lamp is waiting for group approval
Your lamp shows yellow when it's waiting to join a group but hasn't been approved yet.
- Check that you entered the GroupID correctly during setup — it must be all lowercase, with no spaces.
- Ask your group admin to open the app and approve the pending request.
- If the admin can't see the request, the GroupID was probably entered incorrectly.
If the GroupID was wrong, the best fix is to reset the lamp back to dim red setup mode and start again using + Add Device in the app. How you reset depends on your lamp:
Classic and Modern Lamps
Touch and hold the top sensor plate for three to five minutes, or until the lamp turns dim red. It may cycle through lots of colours while you hold it — that's normal. Just keep holding. It will eventually settle on dim red.
LuvLink Infinity Range
Insert a pin into the Reset pinhole on the underside of the lamp. The lamp will glow a rainbow colour before settling on dim red.
Once the lamp is dim red, run through the setup again using the app.

Your Wi-Fi is dropping out
Your lamp can turn yellow if it loses its internet connection — this often happens after a network hiccup or a router change.
- Check that your home Wi-Fi is working on another device.
- Unplug your router, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Unplug your lamp, then plug it back in.
- If the lamp is still yellow, reset it to dim red mode by holding your finger on the touchpad for 3–5 minutes, then run through the setup again in the LuvLink app.
A power supply problem
A weak or unstable power supply can cause the lamp to freeze on yellow.
- Try a different wall outlet.
- Try a different USB charging brick.
- Make sure you're using a good-quality adapter and cable so the lamp is getting steady power.
Still stuck on yellow?
If you've checked the GroupID, the lamp has been approved, and your Wi-Fi and power supply are both fine — but the lamp is still yellow — our support team can check things from the backend and often sort it out remotely.
